The OldWinburnians

King Henry VII and his mother, Lady Margaret Beaufort, visit Wimborne Minster. Her parents the Duke and Duchess of Somerset are interred there. The Duke died in 1443 at his estate, Kingston Lacy. Since Henry VII's accession, they had become progenitors of the Tudor Dynasty, and the Tomb had to be worthy of the new dignity. Lady Margaret makes arrangements to keep lights burning at the tomb, which is prominently situated above the crypt.
